Today I’ve put together a Christmas outfit. There are no typical Christmas colours in this look – red or green. There are no sparkly and shiny details such as sequins. But my choice of colours, textures and styles can be easily explained – I felt like creating something different that wouldn’t look like other Christmas looks but at the same time the Christmas vibe had to be kept. That’s why I started to think over things that could be associated with the Christmas time and how they could be turned to my advantage.
The first thing – cold winter days. The simplest idea that crossed my mind was the layering. I love playing with layering in winter. This approach helps you create a warm and cozy yet chic look. The second one – snow. The best way to express it is to use something white. And the last one – there is something magical about the Christmas time. If you want to reach this effect, use soft and light colours in your outfit.
So I’ve chosen a simple pair of sandy brown stretch skinny pants by Zara and complemented it with a grey printed wool roll-neck vest with a camel brown wool sweater by Marks&Spencer underneath. And I’ve added a beige chunky knitted hooded jacket by Zara. Get wrapped up in wool knitted pieces – it helps you stay warm and cozy.
The next step – accessories. I’ve used a super cool pair of white wedge boots by Tommy Hilfiger. There is definitely something avantgarde-ish about this pair of boots – such a creative design – there are eyelets without shoelaces and instead of lacing there is a zipper. These boots look very chic. I’ve paired them with a pretty adorable white crossbody bag by Furla with a golden chain and studs on its sides.
As final touches I’ve used a delicate pair of earrings and a pretty cute watch with a bee on its face.
Hopefully my outfit ideas will inspire you to create some interesting winter looks.
